Hillary Freeman tells us, “There was a time in times past when the sexual imagery which generations in times past encountered  mainly consisted of a few  girly magazines which could be purchased from under the counter at the local convenience store.

These images were fairly passive, but not anymore. The sexual imagery which now is flowing onto the laptops Iphones of today’s generation is hardcore and depicts abusive sexual acts few of us can even imagine, let alone want to try – and it is available at the click of a mouse in every teenage bedroom.

Today's younger generation find themselves struggling to come to terms with today's radical sexual landscape. while at the same time comprehending their own emerging sexual urges.  The over-exposure to a smorgasbord of sexual imagery which this generation is now deluged with only adds more sexual complexities to an already sexually chaotic landscape.

Today's young people have the same old problems. Unfortunately, they also have new ones. How can a young teenager, ignorant about sex and relationships, discriminate between what is normal and what is extreme?  The saddest irony  is that  the over exposure of all this sexual activity, has not made today's youth more knowledgeable about sex or helped them to have more fulfilling sex lives; quite the opposite has happened.

The over-exposure to a smorgasbord of sexual imagery which many of young people are now deluged with only adds more sexual complexities to an already sexually chaotic landscape.

Today's younger generation find themselves struggling to come to terms with today's radical sexual landscape. while at the same time comprehending their own emerging sexual urges.  Young adulthood is the time when our burning desires, feelings, and carnal cravings strike the strongest and we have the least  amount of experience in dealing with them. The hormones flowing through our body often causes our emotions to fluctuate between extremes.

The younger generation of today has to cope with a very volatile mix of raging hormones, and sexual imagery that at times seems to overwhelm their senses and sexual sensibility.

This has created a great deal of sexual confusion and frustration for many.  A young man who experienced this firsthand wrote the following.

I'm 18 years old, and I'm really rather confused about my sexual orientation. I'm something of a porn addict. I started watching at age thirteen. When I was in school I felt myself being attracted to both guys and girls, but primarily guys.  The more I view gay porn the more confused I become.

The most at risk groups when it comes to internet porn addiction, is  young men. With Internet usage skyrocketing to three billion users worldwide this year—nearly 40% of the world population from 1% in 1995—mental health professionals are struggling with an issue that has risen just as quickly: Internet pornography addiction, one of the most common addictions today.

Dr Marysia Weber, tells us,  “Internet pornography addiction can develop even more easily than a drug or alcohol addiction because it engages the most sensitive sense we have, our eyes; and it’s readily available in unlimited quantities. It’s even more addictive than drug addictions because the images are directly stored in the memory and imagination which remain long after viewing Internet pornography, altering the structure and function of the brain,” said Dr. Weber.

She also says it’s the medium of the message that has a more significant role than the content in altering the functional connectivity of the brain—specifically that high speed Internet can rewire the pleasure center, especially when coupled with pornographic images.

Studies show that those who view Internet pornography for hours each week have decreased gray matter, a major component of central nervous system, than those who do not view it. This means there are fewer neurons and neuro-connectivity in the pleasure centers of the brain. This leaves the brain craving more, while making it harder for the same images to provide pleasure. Addicts then seek increasingly deviant sexual images depicting violence or children to satisfy their craving.

Marcia Segelstein says, "Most people probably don't picture kids when they think about who is viewing pornography.  But according to statistics cited by the non-profit advocacy organization Enough Is Enough, the largest group of viewers of Internet pornography is children between the ages of 12 and 17.  And there's more.

The average age of first exposure to Internet pornography is 11.  Eighty percent of 15- to 17-year-olds have had multiple exposures to hardcore pornography.  Nine out of ten children between the ages of 8 and 16 with Internet access have viewed pornographic websites, sometimes inadvertently in the course of looking up information for homework. Scary stuff.  Many marriages are being profoundly affected by the violative sexual landscape we as a society now face.

We now have a younger generation who are more and more being confused by deluge of sexual imagery they are now confronted with.  And we now have many churches who are totally ill prepared to give viable answers.  The over-exposure to a smorgasbord of sexual imagery which many of young people are now deluged with only adds more sexual complexities to an already sexually chaotic landscape.

Young adulthood is a time in which young people are working out who they are and how they will interact with the world around them. It is a critical stage in the development of personal and sexual identity. Young people are more and more turning to the media including, internet pornography at the same time as they undertake this important developmental task.

This exposure to sexual imagery of every description, which now confronts our younger generation often leads to dependent addictive behavior, spiritual emptiness, and a diminished ability to love.  Additionally this over exposure of sexual imagery of every description, (and some which defies description) causes a great deal of  harm to younger adults by distorting their mental, emotional, and social development.

PORN FETISHES OR A CIVIL RIGHT? A CONFUSING MESSAGE.   With the passage of the same sex marriage law, there was much celebration by the Obama administration.  So much so that the rainbow colors were displayed at the White House.  On the day that the supreme handed down it’s ruling, in favor of same sex unions, then President Obama hailed the ruling as a civil rights victory

The President  issued the following statement, “Justice has arrived like a thunderbolt for gay and lesbian couples.  Today, we can say in no uncertain terms that we have made our union a little more perfect,“
Not only this but the White House was lit with the colors of the rainbow. In a statement issued by the white house to explain why the rainbow colors, the White House issued the following statement.

“Tonight, the White House was lit to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to progress and equality, here in America and around the world.
The pride colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, and tonight, these colors celebrate
a new chapter in the history of American civil rights.”

Today it is a very difficult thing for parents to protect their kids from the tidal wave of porn, that has now flooded our society.  We often associate kiddie porn, with kids being misused, and abused in porn.

But what about kids being indoctrinated, with the notion that the porn lifestyle is a wholesome civil right?

This has created a very confusing scenario for our kids, because on one hand, we seek to instill in them, the fact that these sites and the fetishes they promote are best to be avoided.   While on the other hand, they are being told  that the porn lifestyle is a wholesome civil right.

As parents we seek to instill in our kids , the fact that porn sites and the fetishes they promote are best to be avoided.   Unfortunately our kids are being told by many, that the porn lifestyle is a wholesome civil right. A quick view of a porn site’s fetish menu, tells us a lot

For today's younger generation, they are often told that"love is love."   This statement is made by many who seek to promote the idea that sexual acting out in everyway one can imagine is ok, as long as one loves what they are doing.

It is possible for men and women to love what they are doing, (right or wrong) and to experience a form of physical enjoyment and degrees of emotional, psychological, and spiritual fulfillment.   This includes matters of sexual conduct that God difines as being  abhorrent.

We are told that it’s possible to crave sexual interactions in ways that God never intended.  For this reason, the Bible gives many solemn warnings against appealing to human passion or lust as the basis for our definition of moral sex.

This is the point that Paul Made in Romans 1.  24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.  Roman 1:24-28.

This present day generation is besieged with sexual sights and sounds which in times past could only read about or heard about in the secret whispering of the telling. Just as the sexual hormones are being secreted directly into the bloodstream of our younger generation, they are being deluged on their laptops, and cell phones with sexual imagery of every description, and some which defies description. This has created a great deal of sexual confusion and frustration for many.

A young man who experienced this firsthand wrote the following.  I'm 18 years old, and I'm really rather confused about my sexual orientation. I'm something of a porn addict. I started watching at age thirteen. In today sexual climate the images which has besieged this generation, along with the confusion and frustrating is unprecedented in human history.

According to Matt Fradd ,   “In today’s wired world, hardcore sexual imagery is everywhere, it’s easy to get, and it’s washing in like a tidal wave.   No young person is exempt every child who can hold an iPhone or log on to a laptop is susceptible to it influence.  According to one recent study,  by the time most young people reach eighteen only three percent of boys and seventeen percent of girls will have never laid eyes on pornographic images.   And these kids aren’t witnessing the kind of “soft-core” centerfold images that their parents may have stumbled across in a magazine or cable TV twenty years. Ago.”

Many of the sexual issues that once were considered taboo to talk about are now blatantly in our face.   A refusal on the part of many churches in times past to address these issues has left many church pulpits ill prepared to deal with many of the sexual issues which are now at hand.    Long before the radical sexual landscape which this generation now faces became evident,  God in His great forethought, already had addressed these issues in His word.  Because many churches viewed these items as being off limits or irrelevant, many of these issues were not addressed.

According to Dr. Steve Highlander, “Our sexuality is a very powerful part of our lives, physically, emotionally and even spiritually. Because sex is so powerful God had to put boundaries on it to protect people abuse. People tend to think that God disapproves of sex.  This isn't true at all.  Remember it was His idea in the first place. What God disapproves of is the misuse of sex.  Because it is so powerful, physically, mentally and even spiritually it has the power to destroy people as well as create new life.   It is this very thing that God wanted to protect us from.

We should keep the following four things in mind as we seek to enjoy the many things God has blessed us with.

Young Men and women who honor God's standards for sexual behavior please Him as well as themselves.  But while sex is designed to be pleasing, not all sexual pleasure is ethical. Feelings are extremely unreliable as guides to the morality of sex. As a matter of fact, it is possible for sinful men and women to experience a form of physical enjoyment and degrees of emotional, psychological, and spiritual fulfillment even in sexual conduct that God considers abhorrent. For this reason, the Bible gives many solemn warnings against appealing to human passion or lust as the basis for our definition of moral sex.

We are told that it’s possible to crave sexual interactions in ways that God never intended,
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly.  Rom 1:26-27.

As Dr. Daniel Heimbach  explains  “Our sex lives are moral only when conducted according to God's standards. When engaged in according to these guidelines, sexual activity is enriching, fulfilling, and eminently blessed.”  (the preceding article was presented by, Focus on the Family) . Sex is God’s idea and his gift to us, but like it a gift that we should  receive it joyfully but use it responsibly.

WET DREAMS AND MASTUEBATION?? By God’s design, it is the secretion of certain hormone's into the bloodstream which activates the pubertal stage. This in turn causes our sex drive to intensify.   These hormone's are produced in the human body by what is called the endocrine system.

These hormone's are very important in relationship to our sexual and physiological state of being.  As these hormone's are secreted directly into the bloodstream, the external and internal symptoms of puberty begin to manifest. This is the stage in life when intensified sexual feelings, emotional fantasies, spontaneous erections, increased vaginal lubrication, a higher degree of wet dreams and masturbation takes place.

WET DREAMS—An automatic involuntary sexual response, which takes place as an individual sleeps, by which the body has an orgasm. Wet dreams can be classed in two groups; 1. A wet dream on the part of men is called nocturnal emission, and 2. A wet dreams on the part of woman, is called nocturnal orgasm.  Both male and females exhibit physical signs of sexual arousal during certain periods of sleep.

Wet dreams normally occur as a release of sexual tension, which builds up in the body. Most who experience wet dreams normally do so at the onset of puberty.  Many of these individuals will cease to have wet dreams as they get married and grow older. Wet dreams are something which is experienced by both sexes, but not by everyone.

Many have wondered how they could though no fault, plan, or intent of their own, become so sexually aroused while sleeping. Doctors tell us a man’s body produces semen, that at some point must be released.  When no other form of sexual release is practiced, this semen is normally released through wet dreams.  The degree of intensity of these dreams varies from person to person, because everyone does not have the same level of sex drive.

Some who are married experience wet dreams if they are not able to have sex with their spouse over a period. There are some people, who for various reasons, continue to have such dreams, even after marriage.  It is reported by some women, that they begin to have wet dreams and intense orgasms, once they reach their forties, even though they are happily married.

God understands what causes these types of dreams, and why our bodies respond to them, the way it does.  The Bible does seem to give us a general idea of how God would have us deal with this situation. When we have wet dreams to the point of ejaculating, the bible says in the Old Testament, the person who has experienced this, should wash themselves.

The Bible, in speaking about having discharges from the body, included wet dreams in its guidelines. 10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp: But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.  Deut. 23:10-11,  Lev. 15-16 ,  *It should be noted, in Lev. 15-16, the reference being made is concerning an involuntary orgasm, as opposed to a venereal disease.

Masturbation??- For many young people, masturbation is generally their first sexual experience.  It is estimated that approximately 90% of boys and 70% of girls masturbate.  As a general rule, boys usually begin the process of sexual discovery at an earlier age than most girls. For many young people who begin to experience wet dreams and strong sexual urges, which lead some of them to begin to masturbate, this timing usually coincide with the onset of puberty.

Ross A. Taylor  explains,   “With marriage tending to occur later in life people are turning to sexual immorality and masturbation, on an unprecedented scale. When masturbation is combined with pornography, it becomes an addictive combination that can lead to obsessive and negative results, including making one unsuitable for marriage itself.

The reason being,  no wife can compete with a harem of porn stars, and other sexual explicit images which are available today.   Ross tells us our dilemma today is, ”we marry late and live in an age of visual stimuli, the likes of which the world has never seen before. In our age there is much more visual stimulus to provoke and fuel masturbation. We live in an age of television, magazines, video, DVD, and the Internet, which has unleashed on us a tidal wave of pornographic images.”

We marry much later in life, due to the fact we put marriage after our education and finding a good job usually into our late twenties. This gives more time for sexual addiction to develop especially for those who find it difficult to find friends of the opposite sex.  Sexual addiction becomes a substitute for the real thing. In the end we come into bondage to masturbation, it controls us rather than us having control over our own body.

In 1 Cor 6:12, Paul says '
"Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything'. If we become slaves to a bad habit, then we are not in control of our body.  (1 Cor 6:12-13 NIV).  The biggest problem being the combination of pornography and masturbation, which becomes an intoxicating and addictive mix.”

According to a report by Marnia Robinson,  “Internet pornography is creating a generation of young men who are hopeless in the bedroom, according to research.  Exposure to lurid images and films in the new media is de-sensitizing so many young people that they are increasingly unable to become excited by ordinary sexual encounters.

The result is that impotence is no longer a problem associated with middle-aged men of poor health but is afflicting men in the prime of their lives.”

In this report she called 'Porn-Induced Sexual Dysfunction is a Growing Problem’, Robinson  explains that the loss of libido 30 years early is caused by continuous over-stimulation of dopamine, the neurotransmitter that activates the body's reaction to sexual pleasure, by repeatedly viewing pornography on the internet.

‘A 'paradoxical effect' is created whereby with each new thrill, or 'dopamine spike', the brain loses its ability to respond to dopamine signals, meaning that porn-users demand increasingly extreme experiences to become sexually aroused. Erotic words, pictures, and videos have been around a long while, but the Internet makes possible a never-ending stream of dopamine spikes.

Today's users can force its release by watching porn in multiple windows, searching endlessly, fast-forwarding to the bits they find hottest, switching to live sex chat, viewing constant novelty, firing up their mirror neurons with video action and cam-2-cam, or escalating to extreme genres and anxiety-producing material. 'It's all free, easy to access, available within seconds, 24 hours a day, seven days a week,' she said.”

But she added: 'In some porn users, the response to dopamine is dropping so low that they can't achieve an erection without constant hits of dopamine via the internet.' Many were initially shocked, she said, when they discovered their sensitivity was declining 'toward normal sex’.  When they try to have actual intercourse and cannot, they understandably panic,' Robinson said.

'Most men are astonished to learn that pornography use can be a source of sexual performance problems.   'Instead, many are becoming convinced that erectile dysfunction at 20-something is normal,' she said.  'They are amazed that heavy porn use can affect them adversely, that no one told them it could affect them.”

Porn on the net.  Cyberspace is able to project a near perfect sexual environment, which has been described as "a world of plastic surgery, breast implants, and a wonderful airbrush quality to enhance further perfection".

Pornography projects an image of the female body which rarely exist, and when it does, it doesn't last forever. Whatever our view is of how the perfect woman should look, the internet is able to visually provide her for us. The women shown in porn come from a very narrow part of the wide spectrum of how real women look.

They are young, they have no stretch marks, they are thin or pleasantly plump, they don't have a pouch/gut, they have large breasts, and so on and so forth. If this is not our view of the perfect woman, the internet offers many variations on the so called perfect woman, and we can be sure that a whoever she is (in our mind) she's just a click away.

In addition, these porn stars often wear makeup from head to toe, they are filmed with lighting that hides blemishes, and the pictures may be air brushed or digitally altered after they are taken.  Most women can't even come close to looking like these women look in the nude.  Even if some women/wives can come close to the air brushed, perfect physique look (while they are young),  it's only a matter of time before their bodies (due to the ravages of time and age) will lose much of its physical attractiveness, then what??

The Bible speaks about the value of a good wife. It tells us she is more valuable than great sums of money.  She instills confidence in her husband, and is a blessing to the man she marries. Prov. 31:10-12.  In this same chapter, the Bible warns that physical attractiveness in a woman is at times very deceiving (seeming to offer way more than it can give).

It is also a fleeting commodity. The Bible warns of the deceptive powers of physical beauty, and highlights the other often over looked commodity, which is THE CHARACTER OF THE WOMAN.  According to the Bible, the most enduring quality of a woman is not how she looks, but how she really is (in character and conduct).  The physical beauty of every porn star will fade away in wrinkles and fatty tissue, but the beauty of a good woman remains. Prov. 30:3

1.  His explanation of who we are and what makes us accountable sexually speaking

2. His views about how we act out our sexually

3. His guidelines regarding the treatment of women

4. His instructions concerning the cause and cure for our sexual promiscuity

5. His instruction regarding the radical steps we must take to be set free, to the point of true deliverance.

When God created Adam and Eve,  by divine design He created them on a level which bestowed upon him, observant and comprehension skills, which were virtually a parallel image of His (God’s) own.

God endowed Adam and Eve with,  1. Conscience, the ability to moral grasp ones conduct,  (sensitivity to the voice of God),  2. Intellect, Thought, imagination, (creativity),   3. Free Choice, (the right and ability to choose), and  4. Desire (including sexual). The ability to experience a sense of longing for a person or object,  or hope for a certain  outcome. Including in our desires, was our sexual desires.

When God created us, He did so in such a way as to allow us to function on a much higher level.   This included our ability to sexually interact.   Unlike all other earthly creatures, we not only have sexual desires, but we are also endowed with a conscience.  It is this conscience, which allows us to know how to govern ourselves accordingly, when it comes to our sexual conduct.

As James explains, 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17. As we journey down the road to self understanding, it is our  yielding to our conscience which insures we are heading in the right direction. So just what is the conscience?   Conscience--The seat of our sense of knowing  right and wrong.  The place from which we can feel guilt and express remorse. God designed our conscience to be the seat of our sense of knowing  right and wrong.

The place from which we can feel guilt and express remorse. Another way to describe the conscience, is that of it being a  thought, imagination, and conduct police.  But we can actually by a constant act of our will, place  our conscience under arrest, by ignoring it, and rationalizing it to a place of ineffectiveness. Sin can only exist is the presence of an overruled and ignored conscience.  Even though we can ignore our conscience, this still  does not exempt us
